CLOSET VISIT KOREA: MINJI KIM

Jeana Sohn took her latest Closet Visit to Garosu-gil, one of my favourite streets in Seoul. Minji Kim works at 103, a great little clothing store in Korea, with locations in Myeong-dong, Sinsa-dong, and Hongdae (and perhaps more, but those were the three I frequented).

Update: Here's a picture I took of the newest 103 store in Hongdae - so cute!

WON HUNDRED

LATELY

Carlos and I have been eating lots of warm salads - like the roasted carrot and avocado one pictured above and this one. I've also been really enjoying the latest issue of Bad Day Magazine - there's so much good stuff in there, guys! Interviews with Sofia Coppola, Vanessa Beecroft, Panda Bear, Thomas Persson, etc.

The "dirt bombs" at Capital Espresso in Parkdale are dangerously good (along with their muffins - I love the carrot coconut, especially).

Carlos is a master layer-er!

We finally made it back to Saving Grace last Saturday. We JUST missed getting seated right away, so had to wait, which I didn't really mind. I was very impressed with the fig frittata. Figs in eggs! Who knew.

A couple of things that made me happy this morning from IKO IKO. See also: this song.

YE RIN MOK

Nice work from Seoul-born photographer Ye Rin Mok.

SILVER FALLS ANTIQUES

Silver Falls, vintage purveyor and home of my fave five dollar silk Adrienne Vittadini top, has opened up an antique shop at 1080 Queen Street West, next to Art History (another favourite). Yesss!

I tried on a few of these pieces at Chasse Gardée today (black silk/linen sack, I'm looking at you!) and I'm pretty obsessed. Perfect shapes, perfect colours.

BRUNCH SET

SUNNY DAYS + GIVEAWAY WINNERS

As I've been a total hermit lately, here are some photos from more agreeable weather last summer in Seoul. Sigh.

Anyway, on to more important things. Thank you to all who participated in the giveaway and a BIG thanks to Jung Eun Park! The winners are May, Ringo Have a Banana, Jess, and berkeley. Please email me (merchant.katie@gmail.com) your address to receive the zines.

JUNG EUN PARK x GIVEAWAY

I received the best package from Korean illustrator Jung Eun Park this week. Slippers, zines, postcards, and a lovely handwritten note! I've wanted to do a giveaway here for a while and thought that both of Jung's self-published zines, Cicciolina the Cat and Herbs, would be perfect. I picked up my own copies in Seoul at The Book Society, but Jung has generously sent me some to give to you.

If you'd like to enter, please leave a comment below and I will pick four winners at random on Monday evening (each winner will receive both zines).
I posted previously about Herbs here and Cicciolina the Cat here.

Good luck!
