Carlos and I have been eating lots of warm salads - like the roasted carrot and avocado one pictured above and this one. I've also been really enjoying the latest issue of Bad Day Magazine - there's so much good stuff in there, guys! Interviews with Sofia Coppola, Vanessa Beecroft, Panda Bear, Thomas Persson, etc.

The "dirt bombs" at Capital Espresso in Parkdale are dangerously good (along with their muffins - I love the carrot coconut, especially).

Carlos is a master layer-er!

We finally made it back to Saving Grace last Saturday. We JUST missed getting seated right away, so had to wait, which I didn't really mind. I was very impressed with the fig frittata. Figs in eggs! Who knew.

those donuts, that omelet, them layers!!!
ReplyDeleteThose dirtbombs look exactly like the sugar donuts I used to eat pretty much weekly from the Italian bakery from the street where I grew up. So deliciously bad. Oh man.
ReplyDeleteI love Capital's muffins too! But I haven't tried their dirt bombs!! It looks so delish!
ReplyDeleteDirt bombs gimme gimme. Looks amazing!! I really truly love your blog. So fresh, so clean.

ReplyDeleteSecond—whenever I go to second-hand shops, I'm always hoping to find a picture like that lovely lady.
Third—I have to decide where to head off to next in September, and you're making a good case for Toronto :) Thanks for keeping me inspired about Canada, Katie.
Yes!! Come to Canada Michelle. This blog makes our city so exciting [which it is, but I feel I don't appreciate it enough at times].
