TALK/SERVICE

talk/service flagship store
520-9 shinsa-dong, kangnam-gu, seoul korea
tel. +82 2 541 0208

talk/service is a beautiful Korean clothing company.
Their designs are clean, simplistic, and elegant.
They make very special jackets and ponchos, although I would be happy owning just about everything they have in store.
Especially that chair.

talk/service S/S '08 collection

Both the talk/service flagship store and the equally lovely Hall (where I saw this couch) are connected to Allo Papergarden (Sinsa-dong) and Cafe Papergarden (Apgujeong), respectively.

Which means you can grab a bite to eat (I love their sandwich sets) after looking at all the pretty things.

DARE

Hongdae may have some good vintage stores...

but none compare to this one.

DARE houses an incredibly(!) well curated collection of vintage goods ranging everywhere from home decor to work wear to denim. Ohhhh, the denim. They also have fantastic shoes, jewelry, and just about everything else I want/need from a store/life.

It's the best.

WERK IT

Eley Kishimoto's collaboration with Singaporean design publishers Work has resulted in another unique Werk edition. The new offering is made of real fabric prints, sketches and patterns created by the fashion designers...

For Werk No. 17, the latest in a series of bespoke publishing ventures from Work, Eley Kishimoto offer a glimpse into their working philosophy and their penchant for prints and patterns.

Creative Review | Eley Kishimoto: Werk No. 17

The internet doesn't do this issue justice - it's impossibly beautiful in real life.

BOTTLES

Bottles in Apgujeong.

CARDS

Pin-up cards from At Corner in Hongdae.

DU; PAIN

Du; Pain is located up a sliver of side alley (which doubles as a comfortable patio) in Hongdae.

The service and food here are just wonderful - completely unpretentious and so reasonably priced.

I highly recommend the foil-wrapped hamburger steak.

NICE OUTFIT

While at the flea market I was given a copy of Cracker Your Wardrobe Magazine.

I especially liked this girl's outfit - those tomato pants! The head wrap! Her sunglasses/yellow purse! The styling so fun and I love that it's all no brand.

You can see more street snaps here.

KITSCH

The sequins really caught my eye.

Vintage in Sinsa-dong.

THENCE

I like Korean design company Thence, especially their nautical themed bookmarks.

They now also select vintage clothes/goods (find them at A-land).

It's a nice extension of their work.

TRINKETS

Trinkets in Insadong.
